Comments:
In 2004 turrets could not strike nodes. In UT3, they can. So to keep the turrets in the map, I had to block line of sight from the turrets to the nodes.

Known bugs:

  • Bots won't use teleporters and consequently Raptors.

*Note: This map REQUIRES ConfigPowerNode.u. Keep that in mind if you distribute this map.

The second release candidate

The second release candidate is ready.  Besides a couple tiny changes I have to make, this will likely be the final.

So it turns out that ONS-Maelstrom-NV was in fact a separate map entirely.  It was made by the same author and was 20% smaller than regular Maelstrom.  I didn't shrink the map down, but I'm confident that the hoverboard will make up for it.

Is there anything I should add that will benefit ONS 2.0?  All weapons right now are in lockers, but if I need to add something else to get the grenade launcher to work, I'd like to do that.  Spider mines weren't in the original, unless I'm mistaken, so I'm not going to add goo guns, although they are of course in lockers.

I would like to publish this for the PS3.  I tried following the instructions at the Epic forums but not all the instructions matched the current build of UT3.  It didn't work.  Is there something you can tell me to help me get this to work?

Changes
-Teleporters in NV link setup now teleport above the base rather than all the way on the tower.
-Jump pads at base to the prime nodes - not present in Classic link setup.
-Jump pads at island nodes up to cliff nodes for all links, as in NV from 2k4.
-Jump pads at center node up to the hill as in NV from 2k4.
-Jump boots on the hill above center to make getting down less painful.
-Jump boots at core only for Default link setup.
-UDamage and Berserk at core - not present in Classic link.
-Health and armor added at various nodes.
-Turrets at bases as in 2k4, of course not in NV.
-Fixed collision on tower supports.
-Fixed collision on rock arches.

In ONS 2.0 any bio guns thar are a separate pickups are replaced with the mine layer and any bio guns that are in weapon lockers are replaced with the GOO GUN. So it sounds like you have it right. How many of the lockers did you put the bio gun in do u remember?

All of them.  Now, when you say GOO GUN, do you mean the Bio grenade launcher I've been hearing about?  If so, that's perfect because I think the grenade launcher is supposed to be at every node.  And the actual Bio rifle is largely useless on this map.

Well, I'd like to be able to do it myself so in the future I don't depend on people.  Thank you so much for offering to help.  I'm avoiding some people in my vent right now, but I have GSC so I'll pop on there in a few minutes.

Sanch3z had just mentioned to me that there were issues with the other Maelstrom I had just put up so Ive updated the original post with the NEWEST map version which I beleive is the final. This map is a blast and if you haven't tried it give it a shot and you wont be dissapointed.......trust me!
